Our Correspondent Kohima, Aug. 3 (EMN): Nagaland has only five senior citizens registered on the Senior Able Citizen for Re-employment in Dignity (SACRED) portal, which was made operational on October 1, 2021. There are 4527 senior citizens who have registered on the SACRED portal, according to the Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Sushri Pratima Bhoumik, in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday. He added that 63 senior citizens have applied through the SACRED portal for employment from 16 states/Union territories, but none from Nagaland. Uttar Pradesh has the highest number of senior citizens on SACRED portal with 854 persons followed by West Bengal with 581, Kerala-421, Maharashtra-379, and Delhi-340; while Sikkim, Meghalaya, Daman and Diu, Dadar and Nagar Haveli got the least with two persons each registered on the portal.
