Enrico Pineda (1PACMAN Partylist) and Raneo Abu (NP, Batangas), HB 8914 was referred for plenary debates on Monday, March 8 and was approved on second reading the following day. Romero said the bill seeks to make the country’s road safer from motorists who are intoxicated or are high on drugs while operating their vehicles.

Cayetano, allies seek additional cash aid for COVID-hit families, other beneficiaries

Published February 4, 2021 9:26am By ERWIN COLCOL, GMA News Former Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano and his allies have filed a measure seeking to grant additional cash assistance to families affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. In House Bill 8697, Cayetano and six other lawmakers proposed to create the Bangon Pamilyang Pilipino (BPP) Assistance Program, which will provide beneficiaries with P1,500 cash assistance per family member or P10,000 per household, whichever is higher. “This bill ensures that each and every Filipino is given additional assistance, in recognition that we all have been affected by the pandemic, economic setbacks, and all the hardships brought about in the year 2020,” the authors said in the bill s explanatory note.

Alan Peter Cayetano on Friday challenged the leadership of the House of Representatives to spearhead efforts to stop the continuous rise in prices of basic goods that has affected millions of Filipinos facing the COVID-19 public health threat. Rep. Alan Peter Cayetano Together with his wife, Taguig Rep. Lani Cayetano and loyal allies, the former House leader filed House Resolution 1515 calling on the Lower House to swiftly initiate moves that would arrest the soaring prices of meat and vegetables. For starters, Cayetano said the House must “investigate the issue to be able to determine what actions the government has taken to address” it.
