BANGOR, Maine (AP) - A motorist charged with manslaughter in a fatal crash on July 7 in Lagrange is being detained at the Penobscot County Jail.
Randall Hamm, 39, of Lagrange, made his first court appearance on Monday after being arrested last week for manslaughter and aggravated drunken driving, the Bangor Daily News reported. Bail was set at $2,000, and he remained in jail Tuesday.
Hamm’s blood alcohol content was twice the legal limit for driving when he crashed his sport utility vehicle in Lagrange, police said. His passenger, Desarae Bourgoine, 35, was ejected and killed in the rollover crash, police said.

(Jonesboro) â Speed and lack of a seatbelt are blamed for a fatal crash in Jonesboro.  State Police report to Star 97.7 that 23-year old Devin Lee of Milbridge died in yesterday afternoonâs crash on Old Route 1 in the Washington County town. He was only person inside the 1989 Mercedes when it crashed just before 12:30 in the afternoon. Troopers say he was driving too fast and was not wearing a seatbelt.
(LaGrange) â State police have arrested a 39-year old Lagrange man on manslaughter and aggravated OUI charges stemming from a fatal crash last July. Spokeswoman Katy England reports to Star 97.7 that Randall Hamm was driving at reckless speeds when his vehicle crashed and killed 35-year old Desarae Bourgoine also of Lagrange. Investigators say his blood alcohol level was nearly twice the illegal limit.
