Keith Domke, president of the Jamestown Marksmanship Education Range, had requested the county enter into a long-term lease for 27 acres and agree to construct and maintain road access. Domke said the organization was planning an indoor pistol and rifle range with a possible outdoor archery range. He said that the project would not need the entire 27-acre parcel.

County Explores Remote Attorney Services

JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Stutsman County State’s Attorney Fritz Fremgen approached the County Commission Tuesday with a proposal for remote attorney services. Earlier this month, Fremgen informed the commission that he has been operating short-staffed and needed to figure out how to fill open positions. Fremgen states he was approached by former county attorney Lily Schoenig about his dilemma and offered to provide remote attorney service.

Whoever they hire will have to hit the ground running, he said. The ground doesn t wait for you. Bergquist had announced his intention to retire last year. In December, Kim Franklin, assistant emergency manager, resigned due to health issues. Bergquist said he was not aware of any other time in Stutsman County history where the department head and the assistant to the department head positions were open at the same time.
