Synopsis According to the Delhi government’s bulletin on vaccination, as on July 2, the government has so far received a total of 22, 26,340 doses of Covaxin and have stock of 223,000 doses of Covaxin.
The Delhi government had in June directed all government centres, private hospitals and nursing homes that Covaxin will only be administered to those in the 18-44 age group that had received it as first dose. More than a month later, the crisis continues. Covishield remains the only vaccine option in Delhi, hospitals told ET.
“The state government has yet not resumed giving the first dose to the 18-44 category. It has been over a month since the government directed the hospitals not to give the first dose of Covaxin due to its shortage and the crisis continues,” said a senior executive in a private hospital.
