The fundraising campaign for Ram Janmbhoomi Temple in Ayodhya concluded on Saturday after 45 days and Rs 21,000 crore were collected through it, the Trust associated with the drive said.
The crowdfunding campaign was launched on January 15, and about Rs 1,100 crore was estimated to be collected for the construction of the Ram temple. However, the drive received Rs 1,000 crore more than the estimated amount.

New Delhi [India], January 11 (ANI): Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) affiliate Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has roped in Lord Ram of television, Arun Govil for Mandir Nidhi Samarpan Abhiyan to seek monetary contribution for Ram Janmbhoomi Temple at Ayodhya.
Sources stated that the decision to rope in Govil was taken as it was felt that he had mass appeal. The actor is easily identified by the people due to his long association with the Ramanand Sagar-made hit series Ramayana aired on Doordarshan in 1980s, a repeat of which we saw during the lockdown, a senior VHP leader said.
