Delhi govt writes to Defence Minister seeking Army assistance for setting up hospitals with oxygen, ICU beds ANI | Updated: May 03, 2021 14:46 IST
New Delhi [India], May 3 (ANI): Senior Advocate Rahul Mehra, appearing for the Delhi government, on Monday informed the Delhi High Court that Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia has written to Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh for the assistance of Army to handle COVID-19.
Senior Advocate Mehra read the Delhi Government letter before the Delhi High Court.
He informed the court that the Delhi government wrote to the Minister for lending services of armed forces to set up and operationalise COVID facilities with about 10,000 oxygenated non-ICU beds and 1000 ICU beds.

New Delhi [India], April 22 (ANI): The Delhi High Court on Thursday asked the Centre to implement its order strictly for allocating medical oxygen to the national capital and ensuring a safe passage to oxygen without facing any obstruction.
A Division Bench of Justices Vipin Sanghi and Rakha Palli said that if the government wants, they can make heaven and earth meet .
The court order came when it was informed by the Solicitor General Tushar Mehta that the Centre has passed an order directing that anyone obstructing Oxygen supply may face action; no restriction on oxygen supplier and oxygen-carrying vehicle, there should be free movement of oxygen-carrying vehicles.
