New Delhi: Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh today contributed Rs. 10 Lakh, raised from voluntary/personal sources, for the COVID affected children of his Lok Sabha constituency of Udhampur-Kathua-Doda. Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rahul Yadav received the cheque for the amount, in his capacity as the Nodal Authority for all the six districts of the constituency.
During his visit to Kathua, Dr Jitendra Singh also met a group of children who had lost their bread-earner during the current pandemic. He said, it is not in any way possible to compensate for the loss of the near and dear ones, but to live up to the call of our conscience, we have sought to make a very small and a humble effort to stand by these children.

JAMMU, May 11: Jammu and Kashmir today recorded single-day highest 65 COVID casualties and 4352 fresh cases. As usual, Jammu region continued to account for maximum deaths in the Union Territory reporting 41 fatalities and 1708 positive cases.
Among 41 COVID fatalities, 14 were women while seven persons were aged between 30-45 years. Nearly 60 percent deaths were purely related to Coronavirus as the victims had no co-morbidities. The highest 28 casualties took place in Jammu district, six Udhampur, three each Samba and Kathua and one in Rajouri.

KATHUA, Apr 10: Turning tables on successive Central and the erstwhile State Governments who were dominated by Kashmir centric politicians, Union Minister of State in PMO with independent charge of North Eastern States, Dr Jitendra Singh held them responsible for stalling the construction of much talked about Shahpur Kandi Project for 45 long years. He also did not spare the former J&K CM, Mehbooba Mufti for her negative role in signing the agreement with Punjab Government on the project after an initiative was taken by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi in this regard.
