Mughal Road Opens For Medical Emergency, Finally
SRINAGAR: The government has finally responded to the mass demand from Pir Panchal valley that the Mughal Road should be opened for medical emergencies. Lt Governor Manoj Sinha ordered the opening of the road for Covid19 patients wishing to be treated in Kashmir.

Keeping in view COVID pandemic & need for patients to get best possible treatment, Mughal road be also opened from tomorrow for those referred for medical treatment to Srinagar from Poonch & Rajouri districts. The DCs & DivComs will put a system in place to enable this to happen.
In Jammu Kashmir Jails, 23 Prisoners Have Covid19, 219 In Quarantine
SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir government has issued a brief statement about the state and status of Covid19 in jails across Jammu and Kashmir. It was issued after the visit of the outgoing DG Prisons, V K Singh, to the Central Jail Srinagar to resolve last-minute issues including a parole case.
“At present, 635 inmates are lodged in the Central Jail Srinagar which included 27 female inmates and there is no COVID positive case in the jail,” the statement issued by the DIPR-JK said.
“As on date, 4572 inmates are lodged in the 13 jails of J&K, of which, 23 inmates (21 from District Jail Kathua, 1 from Central Jail Jammu, Kot Bhalwal and 1 from District Jail Jammu) are COVID positive to whom necessary medical care is being provided.”

Further, it has also been made clear that the violation of the order will attract disciplinary action against the officers and officials.
“Because of the emergent situation arising due to surge in the number of the COVID19 cases in the district, the presence of the Government employees on duty, especially the employees of the essential services is a must to ensure that all the basic services are assured to the common masses in a smooth and hassle-free manner in this time of distress.
