Rajasthan to impose 12-hour night curfew from Friday amid COVID-19 surge

Amid a surge in coronavirus infection cases, the Rajasthan government on Wednesday decided to impose a night-long curfew from 6 pm to 5 am in the entire state from April 16. The night curfew was declared earlier in 10 urban areas of the state but with the spread of infection showing no sign of abating, the state government decided to enforce the regulatory measure in the entire state.
The order imposing the night curfew in the entire state was issued on late Wednesday evening. Night curfew will be there from 6 in the evening till 5 in the morning and markets will be closed by 5 pm, the government order said. Rajasthan on Wednesday night announced a 12-hour daily curfew - from 6 pm to 6 am - starting Friday, across all cities, as part of a series of measures to combat a worrying spike in Covid cases.
The curfew will be in effect till the end of the month.
Other measures include closing of markets by 5 pm daily, and the complete closure of all educational and coaching institutions. Factories and bus stands will be exempt from this order.
Public functions and sporting events will not be allowed.
Weddings can have a maximum of 50 guests, as opposed to the earlier 100-guest cap.

Jaipur: Shortly after recording the sharpest single-day rise in the number of COVID-19 cases, the Rajasthan government announced a night curfew across all cities between 6 pm to 6 am. The night curfew will begin at 6 pm on April 16 and will be in effect till 6 pm on April 30.
According to the detailed guidelines issued by the state government, civilian movement, and movement of non-essential items has been restricted during the curfew hours.

In the wake of a surge in COVID-19 cases across the state, the Rajasthan government on Wednesday announced a 6 pm to 6 am night curfew in all the cities till April-end.
The order states that the night curfew will be put in place from 16 April till 30 April, until further orders.
Guidelines issued by the Rajasthan government-
1. All markets, workplaces and commercial complexes shall remain closed during the night curfew. The markets and commercial centres have been directed to close by 5 pm so that people can reach their houses by 6 pm.

Rajasthan has also mandated a negative RT-PCR test, not old than 72 hours, for people entering the state and those travelling outside.
For colleges students, except those studying in final-year, classes will remain suspended.
With 1,729 new coronavirus cases in Rajasthan, the infection count rose to 3,39,325 on Sunday.
New Delhi: Amid recent spike in COVID-19 cases, the Rajasthan government has reportedly imposed night curfew from Monday (April 5) and ordered the closure of multiplexes and gymnasiums.
The night curfew will remain in force from 8 pm to 6 am, in which food delivery will be allowed while dining at restaurants and hotels has been prohibited, PTI reported.
