New Delhi: Steel and oil companies have emerged as the oxygen lifeline for the country gasping for breath in the ongoing second wave of Covid-19.
Companies such as IndianOil, BPCL, SAIL, Vedanta, JSPL, Tata Steel have all been diverting large portions of industrial oxygen they produce for manufacturing for Covid relief. In fact, a few companies have cut down their routine production to make available additional oxygen for medical use across the country.

India s biggest steelmaker, JSW Steel will ramp up the supply of liquid medical oxygen (LMO) from ist plants in the country to 1,000 tonnes per day from today (30 April) onwards, reports

The total supplies of LMO from the Sajjan Jindal led steelmaker s plants for the entire month of April is expected to be over 20,000 tonnes. The company is supplying LMO from its plants in Karnataka, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu.

Responding to the recent surge in demand for Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO), JSW Steel has ramped up operations and will commence supply of 1,000 tonnesfrom Friday. The total supply by JSW Steel during April 2021 is expected to be more than 20,000 tonnes from all its plants. JSW Steel is supplying liquid oxygen from its three manufacturing facilities in Karnataka, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu to various States.
In a media release, Rajashekhar Pattanasetty, President, JSW Steel Vijayanagar Works, said that the demand for LMO had jumped manifold as a consequence of the current national health emergency.

JSW Steel said it would commence supplies of 1,000 tons per day of Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) from Friday. Responding to the surge in demand for LMO, the company has ramped up production and would commence supply of 1,000 tons per day from April 30, it said in a statement on Thursday.
