New Delhi: The Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) and the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) will on Thursday carry out a nationwide ‘rail roko’ agitation in protest against the Centre’s three contentious agriculture laws for which farmers across north India have been on a dharna in the national capital of Delhi.

New Delhi:
Entry and exit at four metro stations, including at the Tikri border, one of the epicentres of the farmers agitation, were shut by the DMRC authorities for nearly four hours on Thursday in view of the security situation due to a rail blockade called by the protesters.

Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait on Wednesday announced that the farmer groups protesting against the Centre s new farm laws will be holding a rail roko (railway blockade) across the country on Thursday. The protest will be staged from 12 pm to 4 pm.
A release issued by Northern Railway said that due to the farmers agitation in Punjab, the Darbhanga-Amritsar Express special train, which was to start on Wednesday, will remain cancelled.
