hello. welcome to cnn this morning. it is sunday, november 26th. i m isabel rosales in for amara walker. i m victor blackwell. kaitlan collins is live in tel aviv this morning. thank you for joining us. we are starting this morning in israel and gaza where a third group of hostages is due to be freed this morning, and we re now three days into this fragile truce between hamas and israel. we learned this from an israeli official an american citizen, one american citizen will be among those released today. 13 israelis, four thai nationals were released yesterday, but only after an hours long delay threatened to upend the exchange. they range in age from 67 to 3 years old. cnn s covering the developments from all angles. we begin with cnn anchor kaitlan collins. kaitlan, you have new details about who is being released today. what have you learned? reporter: yeah, we are learning that for the first time since this temporary truce between israel and hamas began that
you are live in the cnn newsroom. i m alex marquardt in washington alongside kaitlan collins in tel aviv. jim acosta is off tonight. thank you for being with us. we are continue with our breaking news coverage of the war between israel and hamas. a nightmare that began seven weeks ago has finally ended for several israeli families. today a third group of hostages was finally released from the gaza strip. in just the past few hours, we ve watched as they arrived at hospitals in israel to be reunited finally with their loved ones. and for the first time tonight, we re also seeing some of those emotional moments. families inside hospitals finally embracing after weeks of heartbreak and uncertainty. these are 13 of the 14 israeli hostages released today, women and children. 13 of them ranging in age from 4 to 84 years old. there was a 14th israeli who was also a russian national, and then three more foreign nationals also freed today, bringing the total to 17. today we saw the
breaking news. and welcome back to our coverage of the israel-hamas war. i m wolf blitzer in tel aviv. we re learning that the third group of hostages has been released to the red cross. today 17 hostages are being delivered to freedom. the idf said the most recent group of hostages includes both israelis and foreigners. we have heard from american officials that they have hoped that one american would be among the latest transfer of those held in hamas captivity in gaza. we re watching all of these dramatic developments unfold. i want to start with oren liebermann here in tel aviv. i know we re being briefed. give us the latest. right now we re expecting the release of a total of 17, 14 israeli citizens and that includes ann israeli russian citizen and three foreign nationals. if we look at the first part of the agreement that we hope will be continued, it was for 50 israeli hostages. that means as of right now, we have 13, 13 and 14. so that is a total of 40 at this poi
be speaking again with prime minister benjamin netanyahu and we continue to remain personally engaged to see that this deal is fully implemented and work to extend the deal, as well. for weeks i ve been advocating the pause in the fighting for two purposes, to increase the assistance getting into the gazan civilians who need help and to facilitate release of hostages. we know that innocent children in gaza are suffering greatly, as well because this war that hamas has unleashed has had such consequences. thousands have been killed and from the earliest days of this crisis i ve worked closely with president sisi of egypt, israeli government and king abdullah of jordan and leaders throughout the region for humanitarian assistance to help innocent palestinians indeed who are not part of hamas. under this deal, the fighting in gaza has now been paused for three days. over that team 58 58 hostages he been released including thais, filipinos, and we ve moved 200 aid trucks into gaz
good morning. welcome to this special edition of cnn this morning. we are continuing our coverage of this temporary truce between israel and hamas and the expected release of more hostages today. my colleague, kaitlyn collins, is live in tel aviv and we ll have more from caitlyn in just a moment. this morning we are monitoring the situation in gaza and israel. this is day two of are this negotiated four-day truce and now we re watching for the release of the hostages being held by hamas. they re expected to free 14 israeli hostages, according to an israeli source. in exchange, israel is prepared to release up to 42 more prisoners today. cnn has learned no americans are to be freed today. they are freeing three palestinians for every israeli out of hostage situation. 13 israeli, 10 thai citizens, 1 filipino were in that first tranche of captives freed. this video was released by hamas. cnn, we should say, had no control over this content. four children were among those release
