In the south bay several people were detained after the 8 00 curfew went into effect last night. This is following a protest near city hall. At least one driver started doing doughnuts. As you can see from sky 7 a large police response. Officers moved in around 9 30 and they shut down and blocked some roads. Police in San Francisco arrested about 20 people overnight for breaking curfew. The Department Says there were protesters near the hall of justice. Santa rosa police also said they made several arrests in pacific and mendocino avenue. No reports of violence or looting. The Department Says officers watched over two Peaceful Demonstrations. Back. Valley fair mall is considering paid parking. It says in a statement that a secured Parking Program will not roll out until 2020. The Contra Costa County board of supervisors approved a ban on polystyrene food container this is morning. San francisco banned tyrofoam containers in restaurants back in 2017. The ban would apply to restaurants, food trucks and other vendors. It will take effect may 1st of 2020. Some revisions to that ordinance have been proposed. Californias attorney general just fired the latest shot in a fight over development on San Francisco bays shoreline. A developer has proposed building 12,000 homes on the former salt ponds in redwood city. The plan was defeated by widespread public opposition in 2012, but the Trump Administration cleared the way for developers earlier this year.
