we have it up on the screen right now, starting in blountville, virginia, i mean, tennessee, and then going up northeast around new york and then back down straight across the middle of washington, d.c. what do you make of that? you know what? when i first heard this, pretty much the payne stewart plane crash that happened years ago where they had a pressurization problem with the aircraft came into mind, so if the pilot is incapacitated and loses oxygen, they could either one or both pilots completely out cold in the cockpit of the airplane, and the plane basically would be like a ghost plane until it ran out of fuel, but it s just very very strange, this u-turn, it is really unexplainable. typically when if there s a loss of pressurization or the pilots become unconscious the airplane usually flies in pretty much a straight line. you normally donn see the u-turn. even up at a high altitude such as 30,000 feet, typically the
take the take the tail. i ll take the cockpit. they were gonna have a suicide mission and crashed themselves into the flight that eventually crashed in virginia. so hats off to the to the military. they protect our skies. any sense, john from you as a pilot of you know, why wouldn t if the plane the citation and it s not just a small private jet. it s a pretty hefty medium sized private jet. why wouldn t potentially the pilot land sooner if he came into any trouble if he is incapacitated ? what would explain the u turn? that s it s a mystery to me. i can t explain any of it. to me. this is almost as mysterious there. here s the flight path of that aircraft. um and you can see it took off . the lowest portion of the blue line is blunt, ville, tennessee. that s where the plane took off. it flew up toward, um, new york s long island. and then it made that
is something they did. last year. it was around may or june of last year, where there was a plane that flew over washington, dc, and there was a miscommunication it was, you know, an event for the washington nationals baseball team at the ballpark there, and they actually evacuated the capitol. they went to read because there was a miscommunication at this point was supposed to be there that close to the united states capitol but again anytime they have any aircraft that pierces that security perimeter around washington d. c. they re going to take notice here in washington and they re going to do you know, take those measures to protect the capital protect the white house, etcetera, and that s exactly what they did briefly here and then i was told after the they cleared the capital. said there wasn t a problem here. that s when people heard the sonic boom. and so that s what lucas was was talking about here. scrambling the jets from joint base andrews just outside washington, d c to pr
you turn and went right over. if you look at the blue line, it went right over the nation s capital. and then that spot on the map that shows the yellow aircraft. that s approximately where it went down in the woods in the mountains near stanton, virginia. it s at this moment, eric. it s as weird to me as malaysia. 3 70. it s just a mystery what happened and they haven t completely found what happened with malaysia. 3 17 0 . no, they haven t. um and they haven t found much of the wreckage of that aircraft. but they re just so many questions here, and we might never get the answers because you know if their plane went down as rapidly as it seems like it did. it s gonna be tough to tell. you know it s going to be tough to piece this thing together and they don t have flight data recorders, i think is the larger airlines do. um stay with us, john. we will have much more in the developing story. this strange flight of the cessna citation
. in this case. it seems like it. it s a blunder on the part of the pilot. but you did tell his chad that the virginia state police there s searching starts in virginia for that plane down plain and you mentioned how mountainous mountainous the train is. so it makes me think that if there is someone on board who has survived this crash, they may not even be able to get any sort of cell coverage out there to make a phone call. calls you get down in that part of virginia and i ve been down in there are a number of times. in fact, i have a good friend from stanton, who works here in washington, dc news to work on capitol hill and i just know how mountainous and world that area is. in fact, if you if you went back and watched the tv show the waltons that if that was set in that part of virginia bolton s mountain, it s very mountainous there and you re not going to have great cell coverage. the fog can roll in very quickly, and this is where the virginia state police are saying that they ca
