Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition on view

ORONO The University of Maine Department of Art will present the 2021 Juried Student Art Exhibition, “Here and There,” that features work by current students in studio art courses. The exhibition will be on display through April 30 in Lord Hall Gallery. The venue provides an opportunity for undergraduate students at all levels to showcase their work.
This year, 72 works of art were selected from more than 106 submissions in a range of media. Paintings, drawings, prints, photographs, two- and three-dimensional design, as well as sculpture and ceramic work are included in the exhibition.
Interim Gallery Director Susan Smith and former director Laurie Hicks juried the exhibition.

Lord Hall Gallery will host a virtual opening for its 2021 UMaine Faculty Exhibition 5â6:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12, via Zoom.
The exhibition, which runs from Feb. 12âMarch 12, will showcase work by Susan Camp, Wayne Hall, Samantha C. Jones, Andy Mauery, Robert Pollien, Matt Smolinsky and Giles Timms.
The artwork on display will include drawings, photography, digital art, wood carvings and more. The exhibition presents an overview of the research and creative accomplishments of studio art and art education faculty.
