The all-new 2021 BMW M3 and M4 got their big media launch a little over 24 hours ago, and we re frankly shocked with the amount of content that s out there. While most of it focuses on the design changes, there is also some performance testing, like this drag race. 4 photos
Car Magazine not only made a comparison between the 2021 BMW M4 Competition and a Porsche 911 Carrera but also devised a little drag race. So it s the cheapest version of the 911 going up against the most extreme BMW 4 Series Coupe? That s not really the way you re supposed to look at it.

When somebody outside the drag racing realm thinks of a car that can bring jaws to the sticky surface of the track, the Audi RS3 probably isn t the first model that comes to mind. However, those who know their quarter-mile sprints are well aware of the platform s potential, with the drag race we have here only coming to confirm that. 5 photos
We re talking about the now-old RS3 (while the A3 has already received a new generation last year, we ll have to wait for this fall to get the new RS model). Long story short, following a trip to the gym, the RS3 can become a 9-second car.

Sure, the 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 and the Porsche 911 Turbo S both use dual-clutch trannies, but the rest of their technical packages are as different as they come. And this is a brilliant reason to see the slab of America and the German supercar lining up next to each other for a good old drag race. 4 photos
In factory form, the pony and the Neunelfer can deliver mid-10s quarter-mile runs, but the battle we have here saw both toys visiting the gym prior to the sprint. And while we re not sure about the mods fitted to the twin-turbo 3.8-liter flat-six of this 991.2-generation 911 sitting before us, which delivers 580 PS (572 hp) in factory form, we can tell you the rear-engined AWD beast has shaved around 0.5 seconds off its standard 1/4-mile time.
