A lawyer representing one of the accused in the Nulane R24.9m fraud and money laundering trial, under way in the Free State high court has applied for the noting of a special alleging trial irregularity.
The Amathole District Municipality is pleading poverty again and looking at ways to solve the debacle over its development agency Aspire’s CEO, Akhona Tinta, after it emerged the municipality would have to keep paying her until April at least. Now both mayor Anele Ntsangani and Aspire board chair Sindile Toni have confirmed they might find other ways to resolve the issue while the court case continues.
Akhona Tinta, CEO of Amathole District Municipality’s development agency, Aspire, has won round one of her fight with the municipality after the East London high court granted her an interim interdict against the appointment of a person to act in her position.
