Dimapur, Sep. 23 (EMN): The chief medical officer (CMO) of Kiphire, Dr. R Chubala Aier, inaugurated a Special Newborn Care Unit (SNCU) at District Hospital, Kiphire, on September 21. Speaking at the inaugural programme, Dr. Chubala Aier, conveyed appreciation to Dr. Longri Kichu, UNICEF consultant, and hospital staff for their efforts to make SNCU operational in the district. She also thanked the Health department for providing the infrastructure and manpower, stated an update from the CMO’s office. Stating that SNCU would greatly benefit the people of Kiphire, Dr. Chubala Aier urged everyone to continuously work towards improvement of the unit. Mentioning that the government and department have done their part, she said it is the duty of the district now to use the facility to its optimum and reduce infant mortality in the district. Dimapur, Sep. 1 (EMN): Nagaland Health Project (NHP) with support from the office of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Kiphire, conducted a district-level refreshers training on implementation of bio-medical waste management (BMWM) for all health facilities under Kiphire on August 30 at District Hospital, Kiphire. The training was imparted to orient healthcare workers about managing bio-medical waste in their respective health centres, an update from the CMO’s office stated. In her opening remarks, CMO of Kiphire, Dr. R Chubala Aier, has highlighted about bio-medical waste management, wherein she called upon all the participants to get conversant in managing biomedical wastes and asked them to teach the same to other healthcare workers in their respective health units. Dimapur, July 13 (EMN): A consultation workshop on Key Performance Indicators (KPI) under NITI Aayog for senior medical officers (SMO), medical officers (MO), Ayush medical officers, community health officers (CHO), Auxiliary Nursing and Midwifery (ANM), DPMU and BPMU staff was held at the conference hall of the chief medical officer (CMO), Mokokchung. The workshop was conducted batch-wise on July 12 and 13.
