A woman awaiting separate trials for the alleged murders of her two adult children has walked free from Brisbane Supreme Court for the first time in six years.

Ruben Peters told police he was short on money and went to a Eumundi shopping centre along Memorial Drive on December 25 last year to steal copper piping that he could later sell. Police prosecutor Brendan Newman said a shop owner was doing some work in his store when he heard some noises coming from the underground carpark. The man saw Peters standing up against the wall next to his black Ford hatchback.
