THIS February, one Somerset town is bringing colour to the streets with two exciting projects. Yeovil is set to take part in Window Wanderland and residents are being encouraged to light up and put a display in their windows between February 15 and 28. Nearly 100 households and businesses in the town have signed up to take part so far. “Yeovil town has excelled itself with its Christmas lights display and we wanted to explore the idea of a colourful celebration of our amazing town at another point in the winter to lift people’s spirits,” said Yeovil Window Wanderland project co-ordinator, Kara Bignell-Bird.

A CHARITY has launched an online shop on Depop after all seven stores were forced to close due to the coronavirus lockdown. Newlife - which has a pop-up store in the Quedam Shopping Centre in Yeovil - is using the online fashion market place to raise funds to keep it running. The charity raises money for equipment to help disabled and terminally-ill children. Sheila Brown OBE, CEO and co-founder, said: “We are so excited to launch on Depop and to offer designer clothes at bargain prices. “This is sustainable fashion at its best and we have had a great response so far – there really is something for everyone.
