A man diving off a boat north of Willie Creek in Broome has been taken to hospital after being bitten on the arm by a shark at the popular holiday spot.
The attack occurred about 11.20am while the man, aged in his 40s, was diving about 300-500 metres offshore at Quandong Beach, a popular camping spot accessible only via an unsealed dirt road.
Authorities suspect it was 3-metre tiger shark.
The man was taken to Broome’s famous Cable Beach by boat to a waiting ambulance. Officers from the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development were also in attendance at the beach.
