Prime Minister Narendra Modi, United States President Joe Biden, Australian PM Scott Morrison and Japanese PM Yoshihide Suga on Friday engaged for the first time in the historic QUAD summit and discussed issues like coronavirus, regional security, economic crisis, climate change, others. In their first-ever summit, leaders of the Quad countries finalised a landmark initiative under which
huge investments will be made in India to create additional production capacities for the export of doses of COVID-19 vaccines to the Indo-Pacific region, seen as an effort to counter China s expanding vaccine diplomacy. US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan informed that Quad leaders will also hold an in-person summit later in 2021.Â
