the read backs of testimony. they also asked to see some telephone records today. so, you know, it s been a trial that s had a great deal of testimony and perhaps they re asking for read backs of certain testimony because they can t recollect exactly what it was, and so that s why they ve asked for mr. cosby s admissions under oath, which they don t know but we know is from his testimony in the civil lawsuit that andrea constand had filed against him. they asked for the read back about the quaaludes that in that civil lawsuit deposition he admitted to giving quaaludes, providing them to young women with the intent to have sex with them. and so they want to know what what all of this testimony is. maybe some of the jurors are using it to have a healthy debate with other jurors who have a different point of view than they do, to try to persuade them to come over to their side to vote, because we know there has to be a unanimous verdict, unanimous for for acquittal. or just to under

reporter: over a decade later, pennsylvania s 12 year statute of limitations allowed prosecutors to file three criminal charges of aggravated indecent assault against cosby, after they were provided with new evidence from the unceiling of his 2005 civil deposition. cosby admitted in that sworn testimony to giving quaaludes to women he wanted to have sex with, quickly changed that answer to only one woman who he said consented to the drug, claiming he misunderstood the question. that civil deposition has come before this jury as well as a firsthand account from one of cosby s nearly 50 other accusers, attempting to establish a pattern of conduct. kelly johnson testified she was drugged and assaulted by cosby in 1996. he said would i give you anything that would hurt you? trust me. reporter: but cosby continues to maintain his innocence and
by now, just say this is a deadlock. reporter: today the judge angrily reprimanded cosby s defense, without the jury present. but added, if the jury comes back deadlocked again i intend to act, meaning a mistrial. but after nearly 50 hours of deliberations, and more than 10 questions, still no unanimous verdict. how common is it though that a jury changes their mind, they come back with a different decision? i have seen cases where despite that jurors have come back and said we are deadlocked, they then change, they talk and they reach a verdict, but it doesn t happen all the time. reporter: so far today the jury has asked for phone logs of calls between cosby and his accuser, andrea constand. along with cosby s deposition from 2005 where he talked about obtaining quaaludes to give to other women prior to sexual encounters. though he never admits to doing so without their knowledge. the jury also asked to hear the definition of reasonable doubt. and linsey davis with us liv
