The East London Industrial Development Zone (ELIDZ) has unveiled three new investments, collectively valued at about R1.3bn, which are expected to generate 1,134 new employment opportunities. While the capital injection was great news, it was sobered by the farewell to long-serving CEO, Simphiwe Kondlo, who has retired.
The forgotten roads between East London and its surrounding towns and coastal villages have deteriorated into hazardous daily commutes for residents, whose attempts to patch up their disintegrating routes is a never-ending nightmare.
