In a fresh set of guidelines on testing of COVID-19 samples, the top government body said contacts of COVID patients do not need to be tested unless identified as high-risk based on age or co-morbidities.
Any person, who has come in contact with a COVID-infected patient, does not need to be tested unless the person is identified in the `high-risk` category based on age or comorbidities.
The health apex body has said Covid testing is needed for early detection of symptomatic cases for quick isolation and care and of infections in elderly and individuals with co-morbidities for quick care.
