Antoinette is off this morning. What was once Hurricane Patricia is now Tropical Storm patricia. It made land fall. The remnants carrying a lot of rain headed north. Storm team 5s meteorologist Danielle Vollmar has the latest on this storm. Danielle it was weakened as of the 8 00 update but at one point it the strongest hurricane on record both in the eastern pacific and the atlantic basin. Now though a Tropical Storm. Of course, its been moving over land so losing its tropical characteristics with winds of about 50 miles an hour. Gusts to 90 and its moving to the north and east at about 21 miles an hour. Now it has already put down in some locations 10 inches of rain looking to add an additional 48 inches in some areas. They really dont need it in mexico. Wind and rainfall to the region. Lets get to Chris Lambert for the latest. Its weakened quite a bit. As expected once the hurricane make landfall especially across mountainous terrain of mexico its a rain maker more than anything else. Theres plenty of moisture streaming into texas and throughout mexico. That be an issue over the next couple of day. Winds 50 miles per hour. The wind a moot point as it becomes more of rain maker and flood threat through mexico into texas. Texas already having issues this morning as some of this moisture getting combined with the front that stalled out across the air. Its a slow moving cold front almost stalled out. It will drift slowly to the south. You will hear about flooding rains over the next couple of days. There will be this remnant low that tries to generate off the gulf of mexico.
