‘The two are India’s backbone’
Haryana Congress chief Kumari Selja on Wednesday hit out at the BJP, accusing it of ignoring interests of farmers and labourers, who she said were backbone of the country.
“This earth is our mother and forgetting mother is the biggest crime. The BJP is committing the same crime today and the motherland will never forgive this government. Farmers and labourers are the backbone of the country, and if farmers and labourers will suffer, the country cannot progress,” she said.
Toll plaza protests
Ms. Selja was speaking among the farmers, who had been agitating against Centre’s new farm laws at the Badopatti toll plaza in Hisar and Narwana toll plaza in Jind.

CHAKWAL/ ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday said the opposition leaders are provoking coup within the army should their leadership fail to remove the elected government. He said if the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) goes ahead with resignations from assemblies, then the opposition parties will see emergence of forward bloc.
While reiterating his strict stance of no compromise over the opposition’s corruption cases, the prime minister said any National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) even by any government would be the biggest treason.
“I have never seen any opposition targeting the army just for sake of NRO through blackmailing or pressure tactics. If any government gives NRO to these thieves, it would be treason even bigger than that by an enemy,” the prime minister said while addressing a gathering here after groundbreaking of four mega development projects worth Rs15 billion.
