The UT administration also told the court that an inspection was carried out of the administrative block and a proposal had been made to shift service book section, accounts branch, DDO section and bill branch, etc., to some vacant space in the old District Court building in Sector 17
The HC had been hearing a plea from Vinod Dhatterwal, secretary, Punjab and Haryana High Court Employees Association, seeking implementation of the plan, which envisaged setting up of multi-storey buildings to cater to the requirement of additional space.
A bench of Justices Abhay S Oka and Pankaj Mithal stated that the High Court ought to have allowed the elections subject to the outcome of the case before it.
