Thanks to the stunning surge in Covid case numbers, it’s been a little trickier arranging property viewings as people are understandably wary about letting strangers in at the moment. (I’m not dying to mingle myself, at this point in time!) Hence, instead of doing an in-depth review of a specific waterfront development in this article (like Waterfront Isle and Waterview.
There’s always this perception that HDB BTO flats are boring, but the truth is – HDB flats are less “cookie cutter” than many of us assume. From the ‘60s to the present, flats have evolved to match trends and lifestyles; and some BTO developments have made bold changes. Here’s to Half Off: Enjoy 50% off F&B when you dine at Clarke Quay in March 2021
Last Updated: March 26, 2021
Each evening, Clarke Quay is steeped in incessant bustle of hungry hopefuls looking to catch some post-work grub, and professionals winding down for the day with a handful of drinks and colleagues whom they
actually like. It’s the chatter and laughter all around that form the hallmark of the nighttime district, and an indication that life has resumed some form of normalcy. All is right with the world.
A unique conserved historical landmark along our iconic Singapore River, Clarke Quay is of walking distance from both Fort Canning and Clarke Quay MRT Station, boasting broad interconnectivity and utmost convenience. Here, you’ll find more than 50 restaurants, wine bars, and entertainment spots across five blocks of restored shophouses and warehouses endowing the area with an unparalleled rustic charm. But you already know the works.
Malaysian hawker fare without pork
Boleh Boleh!, a pork-free version of the Malaysia Boleh! foodcourts, opened at Clementi Mall on Dec 25 with 28 stalls selling mainly popular Malaysian hawker dishes like Penang char kway teow and prawn mee soup.
Operated by Fei Siong Group, some of the stalls also hawk Singapore fare such as fried Hokkien mee. The difference is that pork and lard traditionally found in these dishes are replaced with chicken and vegetable oil.
Its halal certification, which is expected to take more than a month, is still pending though.
I recommend the Prawn Mee Soup ($4 and $6), which comes with slices of chicken, half a hard-boiled egg and prawns. The broth is sweet and boasts good body.
