The Maharashtra government has added more curbs to the ongoing COVID-19 curfew across the state on Tuesday, April 20 in the wake of an unprecedented rise in coronavirus cases.
The state government has further restrained grocery shops, food outlets and raw material shops and permitted them to operate only between 7 am and 11 am.

PUNE: The BJP held a protest on Saturday demanding resumption of municipal transport bus services as a 6 pm to 6 am curfew began in Pune in a bid to tackle a recent surge in COVID-19 cases.
Pune BJP MP Girish Bapat and Pune BJP president Jagdish Mulik led the party s protest in front of the PMPML bus depot at Swargate, police said, adding that they were detained and released some time later.

The new restrictions are to be followed for one week, with a review scheduled for next Friday.
According to the order, all religious places, shopping malls, restaurants, and movie theatres are going to remain closed during the week and only essential services will be allowed.

Pune lockdown news updates: Pune, one of the worst affected cities in Maharashtra by Covid-19, has decided to impose night curfew from 6 pm to 6 am starting tomorrow (Saturday, April 3). Hotels, restaurants, bars, shopping malls, markets and religious places will also remain closed for at least one week. The decision to impose these curbs was taken during a review meeting chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Friday.
The administration has allowed only home delivery of food, medicines and other essential items. No public function, except funerals and weddings, will be allowed. Maximum 20 people will be allowed for funerals and 50 in weddings.Â

There is no respite from Covid-19 for Pune yet as the city had extended its night curfew till March 14. Schools, colleges, coaching classes, and other educational institutions in the city will remain shut, too, till then, the city mayor has said. The city has reported up to 1,000 new cases per day since February 24.
No public movement will be allowed in the city between 11 pm and 6 am, except for essential services. Over the past many days, Pune city has seen an increase in the number of coronavirus cases. The rules imposed till February 28 in this context have been extended to March 14, Pune Mayor Murlidhar Mohol said today.
