Pueblo s JB Pharmacy offering COVID vaccines to eligible citizens

JB Pharmacy, 915 W. Northern Ave., got its first 200 doses of COVID vaccine this week after Owner Jeanette Burns ordered the vaccine four times before finally getting them. “When they initially approached us about doing vaccines, at that time there was only the Pfizer vaccine, and so most of your pharmacies didn’t jump on the band wagon because we didn’t have the freezer. Then they came out with the Moderna vaccine,” Burns said. Because JB Pharmacy gives vaccines to people on Medicaid, they were already linked to the state. “They sent me an email and asked if we would be interested in helping, so I jumped through all the hoops for about two weeks and did all the accreditation things we needed to do. We started ordering every Monday and then they let you know if you are going to get the vaccine or not,” she explained.
