Prime Minister Narendra Modi PUDUCHERRY: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday took a jibe at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for questioning the Centre for not having an exclusive ministry for fishermen. Modi, who was speaking at a public meeting in Puducherry, said Congress leaders would win gold, silver and bronze medals for telling lies. Modi said while the colonial rulers’ policy was to divide and rule the Congress’s policy is to divide, lie and rule. Modi said the present NDA government set up the fisheries ministry in 2019. He said the government increased the ministry’s budget by 80% this year.

In Jharkhand and Maharashtra it is in coalition. The Congress leaders in New Delhi assert that the fall of Puducherry government will enhance their electoral prospects as it will negate the anti-incumbency of the Narayansamy government and make Congress stronger in the state.
