Covid protocol in Assam counting
This time, due to Covid-19 protocol, the number of counting tables in each counting hall in Assam has been restricted to 7 Tables. This is to maintain social distance inside the Counting Hall. There is an increase of 34.71% in the number of polling stations over the number of polling stations in the 2016 Assembly Elections.

Puducherry Poll Results: Puducherry assembly elections 2021 took place in a single phase on April 6

Counting of votes in the Union Territory of Puducherry began at 8 am today along with four states that went to polls this year. The counting begins as a raging coronavirus pandemic infects lakhs daily giving rise to fears that the process may lead to rise in cases further. Puducherry is currently under President s Rule after the dramatic collapse of the V Narayanasamy-led Congress government. The Puducherry assembly election 2021 took place in a single phase on April 6.
The Congress contested 14 of the 30 Assembly seats, with DMK getting 13 and smaller allies the rest. The BJP ceded majority to a local party - in this case, the AINRC of Former Chief Minister N Rangaswamy. The AINRC is contesting 16 seats. The BJP is contesting nine, with the AIADMK getting five.
With opinion survey and exit polls predicting a victory for the BJP led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Puducherry, will the BJP be part of the next government in Puducherry, a land of Tamil speakers will be known soon. The BJP has been finding it difficult to make a mark in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry all these years. The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Puducherry consists of All India N.R. Congress (contesting in 16 seats), BJP (9) and AIADMK (5). The NDA s rival for the 30-member Assembly is the Congress led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) consisting of Congress (14 seats), DMK (13), CPI (1), VCK (1) and an Independent (1).

The voting in Puducherry was held on April 6, 2021. In the Union Territory where the Narayanasamy government was pulled down in February, voters chose essentially between the fronts led by the Congress and the All India NR Congress. The U.T. recorded 77.90 % polling.
