She drove her dying son to the hospital, but found no one in a hurry to help. The ambulance never came. Ive been here trying to get somebody to get my son out of the car. Reporter a frantic vallejo mom found her 21yearold son wounded on the street and drove him to the hospital herself. My son is a gunshot victim. Im still waiting for my son to get out of the car. So far weve had about a dozen speakers really speaking from the heart not only about the difficulties of doing their job outside but also how important it is that they get to do their job back inside. Now, as a reminder, today in this county, San Francisco hair salons and barbershops, nail salons and massage parlors are all able to open but only outdoors. Now with the small victory of being able to open outdoors comes with some challenges. Today they discussed the challenges of opening in a small space inside of a city. Many of them are in a highrise and dont even have the space to open. The cost of trying to retrofit their salons for the outdoors and the fact that they still need their rent paid and being outside really limits the number of folks that can do their job.
