CSPAN Federal Judges Discuss The Bill Of Rights In Modern Times January 1, 2017

When ive heard that first trial balloon a few weeks ago from carl higbee, a surrogate for the trumpet administration, from the trump transition team, i knew exactly what was going to be coming down. He talked about a muslim registry, which was a chilling echo for me because, back in the 40s, they had a japaneseamerican database. They are using the word registry, but it is the same thing that came down on us, a database, where they knew where we were, how many lived in that household, and what we did. After they had the database, they came down with a curfew. All japaneseamericans had to be home by 7 00 p. M. And stay at home until 6 00 a. M. We were imprisoned at night in our homes. And then we discovered that our Bank Accounts were frozen. Our life savings became inaccessible. And that was followed by the soldiers coming to take us away. That must never happen again today. Agreement with the senate on, it was the First Time Since 2002 that congress had come to that kind of agreement. It shouldnt take 13 years for congress to agree on how to balance a federal budget. Beenioner obama has not president since 1977, so maybe there is a time of introspection for congress to kind of look at what their role is. Mr. Scalise right. Our role should be to do that job and ultimately it takes two sides to do it. When the senate refuses to take up even one bill, when we pass six bills over to them and they made it very clear, were not taking up any of them, thats irresponsible. Somebody should have called out the people that were voting not even to take up a bill. The senates supposed to be the most deliberative body in the history of the world. Thats the way it was created. They turned the 60vote requirement into a way to be the least deliberative body in the world. Thats an abuse of their responsibilities. Be nice to see the president chime in on this. But hopefully

Burwell. The Little Sisters of the poor and their copetitioners faced a dilemma that the religious freedom restoration act is not allowed. They can in here to their religious beliefs and pay millions of dollars in taketies, or, they can steps that they believed to be are morally and religiously objectionable, that the government believes it is necessary for them to provide contraception coverage through their Health Care Plans. Thegovernment concedes sincerity of these religious beliefs, but attempts to recast them as an objection to the very act of opting out. With all due respect, that is simply and demonstrably not true. Can you explain to me, the many of them felt that general believe they were pacifists, that if they pacifists, that would mean other people would serve for them. They were going to jail and many of them were going to jail. Jail lessng to important to some . Or less important than paying a financial penalty . I dont think it is, but let me sick to the Conscientious O
