Two aides of Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi, have resigned their appointments with the state government.
The duo, Mr Amaechi Oken, a Senior Technical Assistant to the Governor and Apostle Benjamin Obaji, a Technical Assistant, resigned their appointments this month (March).
In their resignation letters dated March 1 and March 8, 2021, respectively, the Governor’s aides cited non-payment of their salaries for some months as the reason for quitting their jobs.

Space tourism is becoming an increasingly hot topic, and there are several companies trying to make it happen – from Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic to Elon Musk’s SpaceX.
Musk, SpaceX founder and Chief Executive Officer, who is now the richest person in the world, has made normalising space travel and colonising Mars his company’s top priority.

Authentic Nigeria Football and Allied Sports Supporters Club has congratulated the President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick on his election as a member of the FIFA Council.
Pinnick was on Friday elected into the FIFA Council at the Confederation of African Football’s 43rd General Assembly in Rabat, Morocco.
National president of ANFASSC, Abayomi Ogunjimi, said the victory had paved way for a bigger Nigerian football project across the globe.
“Right from day one, I never doubted Pinnick’s capabilities; he’s a man of enormous quality and his antecedents speak volume of what he can do. It’s a victory for all, one that is coming at the right time,” Ogunjimi said in a statement.

…says illicit cash flow over $70bn
The President, African Development Bank, Dr Akinwumi Adesina, has described as unsustainable the debts owed by African countries, including Nigeria, saying it has become worrying.
He noted that it had become expedient to address the continent’s debt and development finance challenges, so as to avoid another “lost decade” and build resilient economies.
He added that the time is now for one last debt relief for Africa but that such relief would require that African countries credibly commit to their share of the deal through bold governance reforms to eliminate all forms of leakages in public resources, improvement in domestic resource mobilisation and enhanced transparency.

Medical experts say using saliva as a lubricant during sexual intercourse increases the risk of the human immunodeficiency virus, hepatitis, and herpes infection.
They also noted that sexually transmitted infections like candidiasis, chlamydia, syphilis, and gonorrhoea can also be transmitted through the practice.
The physicians urged couples to indulge in foreplay to get lubricated naturally, or get a lubricant that is medically certified before sexual intercourse is initiated.

PUNCH Healthwise, a General Practitioner in Minna, Niger State, Dr. Akinkoye Akinpelu, said an HIV-infected man might have a bleeding gum and once the saliva with traces of blood is used to lubricate, the woman will become infected.
