Baltimore to see the exhibit mars in the war of 1812. On display is a manuscript of Francis Scott keys star spangled banner. The war of 1812 is a very important subject for the Maryland Historical society. When it was created in 1844 the defenders of baltimore as they called themselves, the old defenders were very interested in remembering what had happened and letting the country know that this was probably an important event that they felt actually saved the union in 1814. We were very rich in resources to tell that story from 1812 to 1815.
