The Met Office issued amber warnings for “heavy rainfall” combined with “snowmelt” which led to significant flooding in some regions of Northern England in the last 24 hours. The UK meteorological service said homes and businesses were “likely” to be flooded. Yesterday, the Met Office issued an amber warning for the dangerous weather but since then, this has been downgraded to a yellow warning for ice, snow and rain.
Unfortunately, after a plethora of delays, including legal issues, the transaction fell through.
They were then put under more stress to find a buyer as the mortgage on their new property was due to expire.
Oliver said: “With the transaction falling through and the housing market looking increasingly uncertain due to COVID-19 and the associated delays, we started to get quite worried that we weren’t going to be able to sell in time and that we’d miss out on our new home.
“It would have meant having to start the mortgage process all over again and potentially losing our ideal plot.”

A new study from comparethemarket.com suggested that as many as 77 percent of Britons are missing crucial flaws in homes when they view them. The research suggested 13 percent of Britons don’t feel comfortable carrying out thorough checks during a house viewing. Meanwhile, experienced buyers spend less money fixing issues compared with first-time buyers.
For those who may be unsure, conveyancing is part of the legal process that takes place when you are transferring a property from one owner to another.
It includes an exchange of contracts, agreeing upon the contract details and passing the legal titles over when the process is complete.
Mr Harriot explained that if something is missed off during this process, the seller could end up with more problems down the line.
He continued: “Even sellers have to have conveyancers and if they knowingly miss information then they can also find themselves with some problems.
