SHAH ALAM (Bernama): The High Court here was told that there were traces of soot on a white plastic bag containing a SIM card, which was found during a police inspection at Samirah Muzaffar’s parents’ residence in Taman Tun Dr Ismail.
Petaling Jaya district police headquarters Special Investigation Department (D9) officer R. Murugesh, 35, said it was based on his observation of the plastic bag with the name Nazrin written on it. There were (soot-like traces), on the plastic bag, ” he said during cross-examination by counsel L.S. Leonard, before Judge Ab Karim Ab Rahman at the murder trial of Cradle Fund chief executive officer Nazrin Hassan on Monday (March 1).
SHAH ALAM (Bernama): A witness in the murder trial of Cradle Fund chief executive officer Nazrin Hassan told the High Court on Friday (Feb 26) that the two mobile phones retrieved from the scene did not explode based on their physical condition.
Former Selangor contingent police Headquarters weapons duty officer ASP (R) Mohd Sa ad Mat Nasib, 61, said checks on the mobile phones handed to him by investigating officer, ASP Mohd Nizam Daud found that both of the devices did not explode, as their battery was still intact.
The 35th prosecution witness said that 90% of the first mobile phone was in good condition with burn marks spotted on it due to the heat of the fire, while the second mobile phone was badly burnt.

SHAH ALAM: A witness in the murder trial of Cradle Fund chief executive officer Nazrin Hassan told the High Court here today that the investigation paper of the case was changed from sudden death to murder after the initial notification of the incident by firefighters on June 18, 2018.
Sergeant Abdul Rahim Taha, 59, from the Damansara police station said the initial notification in the form of a letter from the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) stated that the fire incident in Nazrin’s bedroom was an arson.
“It stated, ‘Arson case, double-storey semi-detached house. Initial investigation found the case of arson. Please investigate the case under Sections 435, 436 and 438 of the Penal Code so that any individuals (responsible) can be charged in court’.”
