members afterwards, and we all agreed how intense that was and how scary and real it was. reporter: hudson recounting discussions about an on-set accident that killed a member of the crow . brandon lee dying in 93 came up a couple times between my fellow cast members and i. just, you know, we re doing it the same way we did it then 30 years ago. got to double-check, got to make sure. obviously, i think the armorer having been pressed for time as she was, did a fantastic job. reporter: neil said he was asked to be a prop master and
was it a live round? the sheriff s department says that they are looking to the medical examiner s office to help answer that question. laura? josh, thank you. a long-time hollywood prop master says he turned down an offer to work on that movie rust because producers asked him to fill two jobs. one as an armourer, and another as an assistant key prop master. neil saromsky said he felt that approach was flawed. it s just an awful lot of landscape for even a seasoned professional to cover. if you re loading you re up next to the camera. if you re an assistant key prop master, you re loading the wagons, checking the bridles. making sure the trunk is being loaded and off loaded and repeated over and over again. there are so many things that go on between the foreground and the background. and to have to cover that amount of territory and do it well is challenging for even a seasoned professional. he says he also had
you for meeting with them. and they understood about me doing the prop master and they said they d get back to me about being the armor. and they never did get back to me. so i accepted another job. so, you know, stuart, even kind of forgetting the prior-red flags that we were learning about from some of the folks on this film, the sheriff confirmed today that it was, as we ever been talking about, it was the ad and this armorer who were the people handling the gun before handling it to alec baldwin. and the sheriff said, as he put it today, and they are being careful with their language, that there was complacency on this set. is there enough to support charges against people in the production company from what you see already? well, what we really have to look at is who did what and who did what wrong? um, you know, we can start with the armorer and there is a whole list of things that she did wrong. i i agree with scott. the standard in the industry is that the armorer is supp

where there is even fake gunfire? is that something that gets discussed or is that abnormal to you? you know, really there are layers of protection in place, you know, because of brandon lee. what should have happened is a prop master or armorer should have kept the gun in a locked box, should have checked it that morning, should have checked it again before bringing it to set, should have showed the empty cleared gun cleared of all cartridges to the first ada, to all of the actors, to anybody who wants to see the gun is clear. we have all of these measures in place so that this doesn t happen. so the fact that it did is not only an anomaly, but it is, i mean, it is appalling to those of us in the film industry. this is so not how it is supposed to work. but then again, you know, the conduct of blanks, what it is is a quarter load of ammunition, which is why there is a similarity in the way that they look, and that s why i think,
