Police re-arraign female doctor over false rape allegations

The Police Wednesday re-arraigned a female medical doctor, Bolanle Aseyan, before a Lagos Federal High Court over rape allegation.
The defendant is standing trial on a four-count charge bordering on false publication on rape allegation, preferred against her by the Police.
The police prosecuting counsel, Emmanuel Eze, in a charge marked FHC/L/ 260c/2020, alleged that 25-year-old Doctor, committed the alleged offences between June 29 and August 14, 2020, at number 12A, Molade Okoya Thomas, Adeniyi Jones, Ikeja, Lagos.
The medical director, who was first arraigned before Yaba Chief Magistrate Court, sometimes in November 2020, was alleged to have committed the offences while observing her internship at Federal Medical Center, Ebute-Metta, Lagos.

The police in Anambra State have arrested Emeka Chinwuba, an aide to the Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano, for circulating fake information on COVID-19 at Government House, Awka.
Chinwuba was paraded on Monday at Anambra State Police Command Headquarters, Amawbia, near Awka, the state capital.
He had on January 15 allegedly circulated information on social media, stating that there was COVID-19 scare in the Anambra State Government House.
He had alleged that the wife of the Chief of Staff to the Governor, who lived in the United States had returned to the country for the yuletide and infected the Governor and his wife with the deadly disease.

A businessman operating a Point of Sales (POS) business and also a Poultry Farmer in Mkpani in Yakurr Local Government Area of Cross River State has been shot dead.
An eyewitness who gave his name as Thomas Agim said the deceased was shot dead about 11pm when he was coming back from work and within his compound.
“We just discovered that somebody was shot dead. We have reported to the Police and they are investigating the matter, no rival attack for now’ he stated.
“The incident occurred in Mkpani, around his premises. He is a young man, he operates a POS centre. The incident occurred around 11pm while he was returning to his house. He equally operated a Poultry Farm” he stated.
