A businessman operating a Point of Sales (POS) business and also a Poultry Farmer in Mkpani in Yakurr Local Government Area of Cross River State has been shot dead.
An eyewitness who gave his name as Thomas Agim said the deceased was shot dead about 11pm when he was coming back from work and within his compound.
“We just discovered that somebody was shot dead. We have reported to the Police and they are investigating the matter, no rival attack for now’ he stated.
“The incident occurred in Mkpani, around his premises. He is a young man, he operates a POS centre. The incident occurred around 11pm while he was returning to his house. He equally operated a Poultry Farm” he stated.

The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has announced that any National Identification Card or National Identity Number (NIN) issued in Kwara State before 2012 is not valid.
The NIMC acting Coordinator in the state, Mr Paul Popoola, who stated this at the University of Ilorin, said NIN registration in the early 2000s had been rendered unacceptable by the law that created the commission.
Popoola while calling on Nigerians who are yet to obtain the card to do so without further delay explained that NIMC registration centres across Kwara would remain open every working day to capture residents of the state.
Anambra police arrest man who circulated fake information on COVID-19 scare in govt house

The Anambra State Police Command has arrested a 56-year-old man, Mr Emeka Philip, for circulating fake information on COVID-19 around the government house.
Philip, who was paraded before journalists on Tuesday had on 15 January 2021, allegedly circulated information on social media that there was a COVID-19 outbreak in the government house.
He had claimed that the wife of the Chief of Staff to the governor, who lives in the US had returned to the country for the yuletide, infecting the governor and his wife with the deadly disease.
