We are literally the largest Minority Group in america and one in every five people in our nation have a disability. The majority of people have a loved one with a disability is 12 and we are the only Minority Group that anyone can join at any time due to accident, illness or aging. Respectfully is very proud to be a member of the ccd, a group of more than 110 National Disability organizations who want a Better Future for people with disabilities. As we have seen recently, overall the Disability Community is quite good at protecting key lifesaving benefits and advancing civil rights. So many great organizations already out there and so many fantastic leaders already in the Disability Movement already, why was there a need to get another disability organization. And what specifically is respectability trying to achieve . Respectability fundamentally is about the opportunity agenda. We know that people with disabilities and the people who love them wants opportunities for education, skil
Something more in their life than less. A number of people who took money quite yet because of the digital revolution and when they do that they certainly think what now . Now that i made my 500 million, even billions by the time you are 25 what do you do for the rest of your life . Not everybody is in that situation. That cant be. I do think a lot of people, never heard the term effective altruism, since i was a teenager since i was a child. The internet makes it easy to discover effective altruism. The people that connect to. Instead there must be something strange about me. I really think i should share more of my good fortune with people in poverty. There is more to it. Since you mentioned morality, that was an epic we important thing for a lot of people but it was also there wasnt a lot of give. Basically i believe it is fair to say you argue we should do the things we have away until we are with those people who are poorest among us and sensing from you and reading the book that
And i think one of the the difficult challenges we see with individuals across the country is the ability the inability to predict or know what is expected of them as far as their obligations under our environmental laws. I really believe, mr. Chairman, that if confirmed as the epa administrator, this public participation, cooperative federalism, rule of law being the focus of how we do business at the epa is center to restoring confidence and certainty in those that are regulated. Clearly the mission of the epa as i indicated in my Opening Statement to protect our natural resources, protect our Water Quality, improving our air, helping protect the health and welfare of our citizens is key to the leadership of the epa. And enforcement is necessary, a vigorous enforcement, ive done that as attorney general in oklahoma, ive taken very constructive steps against those that violated the law, but we have done so, i think, in a decisive and meaningful way.
