What i want to do is set the stage for the bread riots, give you an idea of the conditions under which it occurred, but also talk about the right itself. I want to share something from his diary on march 7. He was an official in the War Department. Is 30. Flour butchers are closing their stalls. Farmers are making preparations. He went on to say they resent the secretarys schedule prices which are often 50 below the market or neighborhood price.
