UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visits AMU, meets Vice Chancellor

Share Aligarh: The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Mr Yogi Adityanath today visited the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) and assured all possible help including required oxygen supply and Remdesivir injections to the Medical College Hospital. His visit reviewed the situation in Aligarh and other nearby districts. The Chief Minister came to Aligarh to take stock of the situation, and offered condolences to the bereaved families. He held a meeting with the officials of the university including the AMU Vice Chancellor Professor Tariq Mansoor; Mr Abdul Hamid (IPS), Registrar; Professor Shahid A Siddiqui (Principal, JNMC), Prof Rakesh Bhargava (Dean, Faculty of Medicine) and Professor Amjad Ali Rizvi (Officiating Medical Superintendent).

AMU physician Prof Shoaib Zaheer dies in Delhi

May 13, 2021 “Prof Shoaib Zaheer had a gift for soothing patients. He was always up to help colleagues and students, always willing to go the extra mile”, said Prof Rakesh Bhargava (Dean, Faculty of Medicine). Prof Shahid Ali Siddiqui (Principal, JNMC) said: Under Prof Shoaib Zaheer’s guidance, students thrived and young teachers made great educational and professional strides. He will be remembered for advocating the finest healthcare for all and for exemplary services at the JNMC. Prof Shoaib Zaheer published numerous papers in peer-reviewed journals, authored an academic book, wrote book chapters, and edited many books. He was appointed as a lecturer at JNMC in 1992 and was eventually promoted to the posts of Associate Professor and Professor respectively.
