While the MCX April gold futures were trading at 62,900 per 10 grams at 10:30 am, down Rs 65, the March Silver contracts were down Rs 53 or 0.07% at Rs 72,165 per kg.
Taking cues from the price movement in the international markets, February MCX gold futures were trading at Rs 62,285 per 10 grams around 10 am and were up Rs 179 or 0.29% while the March Silver futures were trading higher by Rs 178 or 0.25% at 71,951 per kg.
Meanwhile, silver opened at Rs 71,885 per kg and hit an intraday low of Rs 71,590 on the MCX. The price hovered around $22.78 per troy ounce in the international market.
Gold Price: The yellow metal touched Rs 64,200 per 10 gm on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) in early morning trade, taking a cue from the international market. Silver, which is termed as a poor man’s gold, also rose to a new high at Rs 78,331 per kg on the MCX. At around 4 pm, gold was trading a bit lower around Rs 63,850.
