these are live pictures of the tennessee house floor where a debate is underway over an extraordinary and controversial push for republicans in the state house. they are voting to expel democrats today because they broke house to corm rules. one of them, justin jones, has already been ousted. at this time, the debate is over gloria johnston, and the vote is expected soon in the fight over the third democrat, justin pearson, republicans going after democrats for using a bullhorn on the house floor as they call for tougher gun laws and did so in defiance of republicans who would not recognize the right to speak. all this comes after last week s deadly elementary school shooting that killed six in nashville. this is just a third vote to expel a tennessee house member since the civil war, an indicator of how rare and critics argue, extreme, this move is. protest are currently rocking the state capital. these children and the adults in the school will never forget this. this is
said about six truckloads of soil were headed to michigan. officials in michigan said they never received a warning about those shipments. a representative saying our priority is to keep the people we represent safe. with me now is congresswoman dingle. how did you find out about these reported shipments to your state and what can you do? it began in the grapevine late afternoon yesterday that we have two different sites in my district. one is an injection well, which is accepting liquids. the other is a contamination site in belleville township. i quickly made some calls. the governor was not aware of this either. we spoke to each other very quickly. we learned that the governor of ohio had posted it on his website that they were headed for here. i called everybody. i called the epa, the norfolk southern and demanded answers. we very quickly realized that no one had been given a heads-up that it was coming here. there are issues related to the injection well, specifically
people. we want to thank everyone for supporting us. are nonviolent protests. also new today, city officials telling msn news that police body cameras were turned off during the beating of nichols. officials telling nbc news that none of the body cam footage was lost. that when police first stop nichols, one of the three officers involved in not activate his camera, and in other turned it on, but the camera fell off immediately. at the sign of the butane, officials said only two officers had their body cameras activated s. meanwhile, protesters around the country are once again mobilizing to demand change from lawmakers. the murder of tyre nichols was horrendous. what we need now is civilian oversight of police, and community control of police. law that will make it clear to police that they cannot beat people to death, shoot and kill people. that there must be one standard of justice in this country for everybody. not one standard for the police, one standard for the res
