Expert Panel to begin Kashmir hospitals visit from Aug 7

SRINAGAR, July 27: A 5-day visit of the Expert Committee formed on the directions of the High Court is all set to commence from August-7 during which the Panel will visit hospitals across Kashmir division to assess the availability of the healthcare facilities.
During the visit, the Committee will be examining the healthcare facilities available in terms of infrastructure, human resources and equipment in various healthcare facilities in Kashmir valley.
The expert panel will also look into the facilities available with various departments in the hospitals across the Valley. The Panel has also been tasked to look for the shortcomings, if any, and make recommendations for fulfilling the same.

JAMMU, May 18: As there is all possibility of third wave of COVID in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the Government has constituted a high-level committee for formulation of Action Plan so that all arrangements are put in place to tackle the pandemic in the effective manner.
However, the experts have already suggested the Government to block the spread of infection as early as possible by vaccinating the population on war footing basis as the same is the only option left to make the third wave mild.
The General Administration Department today constituted a committee with Dr M S Khuroo, Ex-Director SKIMS Soura as Chairman and Dr Shakti Gupta, Executive Director and CEO All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) Jammu as its Co-Chairman.

Jammu: With an aim to tackle the recent upsurge of Covid 19, Financial Commissioner, Health and Medical Education, Atal Dulloo today impressed upon the officers for effective implementation of the 5-pronged strategy in J&K which includes testing, containment, isolation & treatment, Covid appropriate behaviour and vaccination.
He made these remarks during a review meeting at Civil Secretariat here to analyse district wise Covid-19 scenario and the implementation of 5-pronged strategy to tackle the upsurge.
The FC directed the concerned officers to expedite the testing and vaccination drive, study the increase of the test positivity rate and take remedial measures accordingly.

No change in last yearâs Covid strain: Director SKIMS
Srinagar, Apr 20: Director Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) Soura Dr A G Ahanger Tuesday said that Covid samples from Kashmir are being sent to New Delhi and Pune testing facilities but there has been âno changeâ in the Covid strain that existed in the Valley last year. He, however, said the teh Covid cases have shown a “tremendous surge” in the past over two months.
âWe have been sending the Covid samples of patients to New Delhi and Pune laboratories for testing. There has been no change in the Covid strain that existed in Kashmir last year so far,â Ahanger said in reply to a query during a press conference in Srinagar as per news agencyâKashmir News Observer (KNO).
