New Jersey Youth Symphony to End Season With Saint-Saëns Organ Symphony

The New Jersey Youth Symphony (NJYS) announced today it will present a concert Exploring Music, Technology and Communication: Together We Celebrate Youth Excellence and Leadership on Saturday, April 30 at 7:00 p.m. at the West Side Presbyterian Church located at 6 South Monroe Street in Ridgewood.

New Jersey Youth Symphony Co-Presents United States Air Force Heritage of America Band

(NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ) The New Jersey Youth Symphony (NJYS) co-presents a concert featuring the United States Air Force Heritage of America Band led by Commander and Conductor Captain David Regner on Monday, November 15 at 7:30pm in the New Providence High School Auditorium located at 35 Pioneer Drive in New Providence. Co-presenting with the New Providence High School Music and Performing Arts Department, musicians from the New Jersey Youth Symphony will participate in master classes with members of the USAF concert band as well as join the concert for a performance of Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition under the baton of NJYS Artistic Director and Principal Conductor Helen H. Cha-Pyo.

Wharton Institute For The Performing Arts Celebrates Black History With Month-Long Free Jazz Listening Series

The Wharton Institute for the Performing Arts announced today that it will celebrate Black History Month with a virtual Jazz History and Masters Listening Hour Series every Saturday from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. EST during the month of February. Learn about the origins and development of jazz genres, including historical icons and their influence on particular jazz styles and trends, as well as an exploration of jazz s social implications in a broader historical context.
